Clostridial vaccine for protection against Pulpy Kidney, Black Disease, Tetanus, Blackleg and Malignant Oedema in sheep, goats and cattle.

Features

  • Previously unvaccinated cows and ewes should be vaccinated twice at intervals of 4 weeks minimum at joining and a booster 2 to 3 weeks prior to calving/lambing. This will protect calves/lambs for the first 8 to 10 weeks. Thereafter annual boosters 2 to 3 weeks prior to calving/lambing are required.
  • Vaccinate calves at 2 months of age and give a booster dose at 4 weeks minimum.
  • Vaccinate lambs at marking and again 4-6 weeks later. Thereafter annual booster doses are required.
  • Vaccinate previously unvaccinated bulls twice at intervals of 4 weeks minimum. Thereafter annual booster doses are required.
  • A period of two weeks is required after the sensitising dose before animals acquire a level of protection.
  • Maximum protection is not achieved until the second dose is administered. In high risk areas seasonal booster doses may be required. This applies particularly to enterotoxaemia and black disease prone areas.
  • Goats are very susceptible to enterotoxaemia and for this reason it is necessary to give a booster at 4 to 6 monthly intervals.
